Road to Fifty Reflections: Day 3

I have nothing against those who rally against corruption. But it reminded me of what our superior delegate once told us years ago: kneel before the Blessed Sacrament instead of joining rallies.

Looking back, I now understand why... the battle is not only against human corruption, but also against the deeper desires implanted by the evil one --- turning money into a false god.

The outrage the misuse of funds has opened many eyes, but corruption has long been with us. 

The deeper question is: how do we respond in our own lives? From 'simple acts' like proper waste disposal and flood control [wala kang karapatang magreklamo o magrally laban sa gobyerno kung ang basura mo itinatapon mo sa kalsada or worse, iniiwan mo kung saan saan]... to the way we manage our money and businesses [nagpapasweldo ka ba ng tama o sapat sa sarili mong manggagawa?]. 

Have we been 'fair' to our own communities and to those we work with?

The REAL fight begins not in the streets, but in the heart [rallying AGAINST "corruption" where it begins].

***Real CHANGE starts when INTEGRITY becomes personal.***

I had a very lively discussion with my mom early this morning. We ate "current issues" for breakfast ~ same sex marriages, relationships, single parenthood, life back then and now. I asked how she and dad reached forty-one years together ~ it wasn't an easy life. She said the younger generation either fears or eschews "sacrifice" and 'self-denial' ~ those are important ingredients to family life ~ sacrifice is the language of love [cf Bishop James Conley]. 1 February 2012 I woke up with a big smile today and greeted everybody with so much happiness that one colleague asked me if I were in a 'new' relationship.  by Syed Alfandi Mansor Well... I am.  I found myself immersed in LIFE ~  This morning, I had my shoes almost ripped off in the train station. I wasn't exactly smiling at the person who did it. Sometimes I wish...

We're halfway through our Blog Hop I'm the 14th among 28 beautiful souls participating in this event. I wrote this as I read Mary's post over her blog  Living with Food Allergies and Celiac Disease   . I am humbled and touched by your kindness Mary. You are so loved BS!
